Challenge: To illustrate a scene from a children’s story using only simple shapes.

Solution: Both the lion and the mouse were created using a combination of circles and rectangular shapes. Because this is an illustration from a children’s story the illustration is very simple and flat and uses bright colors. The wavy, thin, and colorful typography is meant to show represent typography and emphasis references to the characters in the story.
